Respectful celebrations

The end of year celebration brings out the best and worst behaviour in team cultures around the world. It’s a great time to celebrate achievement, growth, integration, (or survival!) and the collective human endeavour and collaboration involved.

What it’s not, is a time to tell your boss or fellow employees what you really think of them. Or to drink too much alcohol at the party and act or talk in ways that others don’t appreciate. Or to engage in ‘jokes’ that demean or embarrass people.

I’ve seen many careers ruined through inappropriate end of year behaviour. So do yourself and your reputation a favour and keep your end of year celebrations respectful.
